The accommodation split onto two levels, each comprising a living area, kitchen and bedrooms, allows a comfortable stay for two families or groups of friends wishing to enjoy their own space as well as moments together. In such an idyllic and verdant setting guests staying at Il Girasole will take pleasure in dipping into the azure water of the pool or sipping a cold drink as they relax under the shade of tall, mature trees. More energetic types will enjoy a tennis match in the villa private tennis court or a bike ride across the countryside.

The situation of Il Girasole in the area known as Tuscia makes it the perfect base for exploring Umbria, Tuscany and Lazio with their rich Latin/Etruscan heritage, unspoilt natural landscapes, hot springs, fortified hilltop villages, archaeological sites and aristocratic palaces. The whole province of Viterbo, north or Rome, is an amazing land dotted with monasteries, towers, Medieval hamlets, artistic treasures, lakes and beaches. Viterbo itself is a splendidly preserved Medieval town well worth visiting. The small town of Bomarzo features one of the most beautiful Renaissance gardens, dotted with bizarre and fanciful sculptures; Caprarola, Ronciglione and Nepi boast some of the richest palaces in Italy built by influential Roman families. If you wish to spend some time by the water, within an hour’s drive from Il Girasole is the Lake of Bolsena with its typical volcanic black beaches. Further westwards the Tyrrhenian coast offers some beautiful sandy beaches and excellent sea-food restaurants. And don’t forget that Rome is only an hour’s drive from your villa.
